Among the incoming names are Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, two experienced Premier League figures brought in to add depth and leadership to Chelsea's young squad. The club's spending spree comes as the 2026 summer transfer window enters its final three weeks, with clubs across Europe racing to complete business before deadline day.
Chelsea's rivals have also been active. Tottenham Hotspur, under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, have spent heavily, bringing in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke for a combined fee north of €260 million, while adding free transfers Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka. Arch-rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, have moved to defend their Premier League title with the signings of Bruno Guimarães, Christos Tzolis, Piero Hincapié, and goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
