Davido Becomes Only Artist With a No.1 Nigerian Single Every Year Since Chart Tracking Began

Afrobeats star Davido has extended a record no other Nigerian artist has matched: at least one No.1 single on TurnTable Charts' Official Nigeria Top 100 in every calendar year since the chart's tracking began in 2020.

The streak started with "FEM," which became an anthem during Nigeria's #EndSARS protests in 2020 and gave Davido his first chart-topper. He has followed it every year since, most recently with "With You" featuring Omah Lay, which debuted at No.1 this year off his fifth studio album, "5ive." The song marked his eleventh career No.1 in Nigeria, a tally bettered only by Asake's twelve.

"5ive" has already produced three No.1 singles on its own, including "Awuke" featuring YG Marley and "Funds" featuring Odumodublvck and Chike, matching a feat achieved by only a handful of albums in the chart's history. The consistency stands out in an industry where even the biggest stars typically go multiple years without topping the chart at all.

The milestone comes as Davido continues his "5 Alive" world tour, which includes a headlining show at London's 60,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
