Musa Usman, an alleged senior finance operative of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State, arriving with his two sons, aged 10 and 15.
Acting military information officer Captain Mohammed Goni said the 40-year-old surrendered to troops of 3 Battalion along the Ladari-Jegarawa-Tunokalia axis, amid a wave of roughly 46 terrorists and family members voluntarily laying down arms in recent days.
Preliminary profiling identified Usman as the chief finance operative of an ISWAP enclave at Jubillaram, responsible for overseeing financial operations and logistics. Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle, and cash from him. He and his children are undergoing further profiling and interrogation.
