The Katsina State Police Command has foiled an attack by suspected bandits in Fulalawa village, Musawa Local Government Area, rescuing several kidnapped residents and recovering two motorcycles.
Police spokesperson Abubakar Aliyu said the Musawa Police Division received a distress call reporting that armed bandits had attacked the village, breaking into shops, abducting residents, and rustling livestock. A joint security team was deployed to the scene, where the bandits opened fire on sighting the operatives. "The joint team responded with superior tactics and firepower, forcing the attackers to abandon their captives and flee into nearby bushes with suspected gunshot injuries," Aliyu said.
The rescued residents were reunited with their families following the operation. The incident is the latest in a string of coordinated security responses across Katsina State's North-West flashpoints, as police and community security groups continue joint operations against banditry and kidnapping in the region.
