Napoli have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign French defender Benoît Badiashile on loan, with an option to make the move permanent for €27 million next summer.
The deal sees Napoli pay an initial €3 million loan fee, with a further €1 million available in add-ons, while covering Badiashile's full salary during his time in Italy. Should Napoli activate the buy option at the end of the season, the total package could reach €31 million.
Badiashile joined Chelsea from Monaco in a near-€38 million deal in January 2023 but struggled to hold down a regular starting spot, particularly after Chelsea signed defender Maxence Lacroix. He is expected to complete the formalities before linking up with Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has been pushing to bring in defensive reinforcements after an injury crisis.
