The Nigerian Army has opened applications for its Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027, inviting qualified civilians and serving military personnel to apply for commission as officers.

Successful candidates will undergo training before serving in the Army's Combat Arms, the Infantry and Armour Corps, or its Combat Support Arms, covering Artillery, Engineers, Signals, and Intelligence Corps. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, aged between 23 and 27 as of January 10, 2027, and meet the Army's medical, mental, and physical fitness standards.

The application portal opened on August 14 and closes October 17, 2026. Prospective applicants must apply through the official portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng, selecting the SSCC option. The application is free of charge.

The Army has warned the public to disregard any recruitment announcement or application portal that appeared online before its official publication, urging applicants to rely only on information released through verified Nigerian Army channels.
