Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke lost to APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji at the polling unit of veteran APC elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande in Saturday's Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke, seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, polled 121 votes at the unit, while Oyebamiji secured 181 votes, giving the APC candidate a 60-vote margin at the symbolically significant polling unit tied to one of the party's most prominent founding figures in the South-West.
The result is among a string of unit-level outcomes emerging across the state as sorting and counting continued into the evening, with both camps posting wins in different local government areas as collation proceeds toward an official declaration.
