Paul Okoye, known professionally as Rudeboy, has spoken out for the first time on the escalating public feud within his family, asking for privacy as the dispute with his twin brother Peter Okoye — known as Mr P — continues to play out online.
In a statement released through his management, Fire Department Inc., Rudeboy acknowledged the intense public interest in the matter but insisted that family issues are best resolved with "dignity, respect, and responsibility." The statement added that he would not be drawn into "an exchange of allegations or commentary" that distracts from his music and his fans.
The rift traces back to a long-running dispute between the Okoye brothers — Peter, Paul, and their older brother and former manager Jude — over the P-Square legacy, including accusations of financial misconduct and disputes over ownership of the group's back catalogue. Tension escalated further in recent weeks after Peter made comments about his children not speaking Igbo, which Paul appeared to respond to online, and after Peter released a series of videos detailing personal allegations involving their late mother and his wife, Lola.
Rudeboy's management urged fans and media to rely on verified information rather than speculation, while pointing to the continued success of his recent single "Blessed & Alive," featuring Sarkodie, as proof his focus remains on music.
The latest escalation followed the eighth episode of a video series in which Peter alleged that family members — including their late mother, Josephine Okoye — confronted him and his wife, Lola, shortly after the birth of their son. He described a family meeting at his Lagos residence attended by brothers Jude, Paul, and Tony, along with pastors, at which he says neither he nor Lola were properly welcomed. Paul's camp has not directly addressed that specific claim.
The dispute has also touched on business matters, with Peter separately accusing Jude of financial misconduct and withholding access to the group's back catalogue — allegations Jude has not publicly detailed a response to. Rudeboy's management says he intends to stay out of that side of the dispute entirely.
