Osun Election: APC Rejects Adeleke’s Victory, Begins Audit of Results

The All Progressives Congress says it does not accept INEC’s declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as winner, and has launched a review of the electoral records.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of Ademola Adeleke as winner of the Osun State governorship election, insisting the governor did not secure the highest number of valid votes.
Speaking on Arise News, the party’s Director-General of the Osun Governorship Campaign, Oluwole Oke, said the APC had begun an audit of the electoral process before deciding its next move. “We do not agree with the declaration of INEC. That’s our position for now. We believe he did not score the highest valid votes,” Oke said.
He said the party had directed its agents to submit copies of Forms EC8A, EC8B and EC8C for review, and that it would examine the election against the Electoral Act before taking a formal position.
INEC had declared Adeleke winner with 511,067 votes to APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji’s 444,815 — a margin of 66,252 votes — with the governor carrying 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas. President Bola Tinubu has already congratulated Adeleke.
