The Nigeria Police Force reported arrests, rescues and weapons recoveries across 14 operations nationwide in its August 19 operational summary.
The Nigeria Police Force reported a series of successful operations across the country in its State-by-State Executive Summary for August 19, 2026, signed by Force spokesperson CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu.
In Abia State, operatives arrested a 55-year-old man allegedly attempting to vandalise rail tracks along the Aba–Owerri corridor, recovering a pump-action gun and tools. In Enugu State, separate operations led to the arrest of eight suspects and the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, a pistol, 63 rounds of ammunition and an explosive device, while three kidnapped victims were rescued along the Port Harcourt Expressway after officers engaged armed hoodlums who fled.
Suspects are undergoing investigation; none has been convicted of any offence.
